IRIS GARDEN (founded in 2025) is a media platform devoted to highlighting the practices and stories of artists through interviews, and above all images.

The name IRIS GARDEN is borrowed (with respect and admiration) from a collaboration of the same name between photographer William Gedney and composer John Cage (edited and published by Alec Soth). The photobook takes Gedney’s photos, various Cage writings, and builds upon Cage’s practice of chance to make a book that is nearly impossible to experience the same way twice.

Additionally, while IRIS GARDEN is not limited to composer profiles, the project is inspired by (and looks to carry on) Gedney’s series of composer portraits.
